After a two-year hiatus the PAAT Institute is back! Our goal is to host an event which helps clarify ethics laws and practices while also enhancing relationships among the various and unique constituencies involved in the lobby and government affairs profession. This year's event will focus on what you need to know to stay in compliance during the interim and beyond, as well as the latest Commission news and activities of note. In addition to compliance discussions from ethics experts, including Steve Wolens, former House member and current Chair of the Texas Ethics Commission, panels will feature a discussion with Texas legislators, representatives from the Texas Tribune and the Quorum Report and a keynote by Travis County District Attorney Margaret Moore. Link to full agenda here.

Our Mission

The Professional Advocacy Association of Texas is the only recognized statewide group for the lobby community. PAAT members are well-respected lobbyists and company/association government affairs representatives who are serious about what they do and are committed to integrity and high ethical standards.

PAAT keeps my office up to date on ethics laws and regulations through its regular member communications and its one of a kind ethics training institutes. This training is an invaluable asset to me as well as my clients.

On behalf of its membership, PAAT works with the Texas Ethics Commission and the Texas State Legislature to improve understanding and compliance with the law relating to lobbying in Texas, while raising the ethical bar for the lobby profession and for governmental affairs practices overall.
